About the Village
Key Accommodation Information
- Cabin Type: All our one-bedroom eco-cabins are approximately 40m2 in floor area and feature an ensuite, kitchenette, and large liveable front deck
- Rent: Starting from $405 per week (plus separately metered water and power)
- Bond: 3 weeks’ rent paid to the RTA, plus a $20 key deposit
- Rent Payment: 2 weeks in advance, preferably via CentrePay
- Pets: Small dogs allowed (must be on a lead when outside); no cats due to wildlife protection requirements
- Carparking: one carpark per eco-cabin
- Laundry: we have a secure onsite laundry available with washing machines and dryers. We provide a free biodegradable detergent for our residents to protect our sensitive waste treatment plant.

Frequently asked Questions
How long has there been a caravan park at this location?
The park was originally opened in 1964.
How do I make an application?
You can apply either online by completing the online application form on the “Apply” page, or download the application form and email it to rentals@sunparks.com.au
Are there any cabins available at the moment?
Cabins become available from time to time and there may be one available now. Please complete the online form if you wish to make an application and one of the team will be in touch to discuss availablity.
At one stage the old caravan park had a bad reputation, has it been fixed ?
Yes, the park has been completely transformed into a clean, safe and beautiful village.
How long does it take to get a cabin?
Cabin availability is dependent upon occupancy rates at any given time. You would need to fill in an enquiry form to receive up to date information.
What type of lease do I sign?
You will be required to sign a Residential Tenancy Authority form 18 B.
Do I need to pay a bond?
Yes. You will be required to pay three weeks bond and this will be lodged with the Residential Tenancy Authority.
How do I get my bond back when I leave?
Rainforest Rental Village will complete an inspection of your cabin to ensure there is no damage. If there is no damage your bond will be repaid in full however, if there is damage to the cabin (including external areas) the repair cost will come out of your Bond.
Is the cabin insured?
The cabin building is insured by RRV however any valuables you have inside need to be insured by you.
What sort of tenants do you have at RRV?
Typically, our residents tend to be retirees reliant on the age pension. This is not a condition of entry as all applicants are assessed on their merits.
Do the cabins have air conditioning or can I install my own?
Most cabins are now airconditioned. We are in the process of installing reverse cycle airconditioning in all cabins. This means both cooling and heating.
Can I have a screen security door?
Yes. Contact Management for information on how to get one installed. Many cabins come with a screen door already installed.
Can I hang blinds on my veranda?
Yes, but you must first get Management permission to make sure the blinds are suitable.
Can I hang pictures on my wall?
Yes, but you must repair any damage to the cabin before you leave.
Can I paint my cabin?
No.
Can I have pot plants?
Yes. You can have pot plants on your veranda or in front of your cabin. These must be maintained and present in a tidy way.
Can I plant my own trees?
No, but you can have pot plants.
Can I have a gate on my veranda?
Yes, but you must first get Management permission.
Do the cabins have blinds?
Yes, they have blinds.
Can I have people over for a party?
Yes, but all noise must cease by a reasonable time in the early evening especially if it’s going to disturb other residents.
Can I play loud music?
No. If it’s going to disturb other residents then it’s not permitted.
Can I install a car port?
No. Car ports, or similar structures, require Gold Coast City Council approval which is very difficult to get given the building regulations pertaining to fire separation.
Can I have a garden shed?
Yes. Please contact Management to find out how to get one installed.
Is there a central laundry?
Yes, there is a central laundry that can be paid for by credit card, savings card or coins. We provide free biodegradable detergent.
Is there laundry detergent on site?
Yes, we provide a biodegradble detergent that must be used to protect out Treatment Plant and environment.
Can I keep a bird in a cage?
Yes, as long as it doesn’t disturb the neighbours with noise.
Can I keep a dog?
Yes, as long as it meets Management requirements. Dogs must not distrub other residents with barking otherwise we will require the dogs to be removed.
Can I swim in the creek?
Yes. We have been advised by council that the creek water is cleaner than Currumbin Rock pools.
Are there snakes?
We have seen the occasional python down by the creek.
